AES-256-GCM Encryption

Your vault is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your master password via PBKDF2 (310,000 iterations). No master password = no access.

Your vault never touches any server. There is no AlphaByteCore account, no cloud backup, no sync server. Your device is the only storage location.

How It Works

Create Your Vault

Set your master password — the only key that decrypts your vault. VaultGuard derives an AES-256 encryption key from it. We never see or store your master password.

Add & Auto-Fill

Save credentials as you log in, or manually add them. VaultGuard detects login forms automatically and fills with one keyboard shortcut.

Stay Secure

Enable breach monitoring, rotate old passwords with the generator, and export encrypted backups for safekeeping.

Frequently Asked Questions

We cannot recover your vault — there's no server, no key escrow, no reset mechanism. We strongly recommend writing your master password on paper and storing it securely offline.

Manual export/import is supported for device migration. Encrypted cross-device sync via your own storage (iCloud, Dropbox) is on the roadmap for v1.0.

Yes, but treat it as a secondary vault until v1.0. The core encryption is stable; some UI flows are still being refined. Always keep an export backup.

VaultGuard uses k-anonymity: your password is hashed, and only the first 5 characters of the hash are sent to the HIBP API. The full hash is never transmitted.
