How It Works

Block at the Network Level

PrivacyShield intercepts all outgoing requests before they leave Chrome. Tracker requests are matched against the blocklist and dropped in milliseconds.

Spoof the Fingerprint

JavaScript APIs used for fingerprinting are intercepted and return randomized values. Each browser session gets a new fingerprint, breaking cross-session tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rarely. It uses a smart CDN allowlist to avoid blocking legitimate resources. Sites that do break can be whitelisted per-site or per-feature in one click.

uBlock Origin is excellent at ad/tracker blocking. PrivacyShield adds fingerprint spoofing, cookie intelligence, and a visual network graph — capabilities uBlock doesn't have. They complement each other.

For logged-in sessions, fingerprinting is less effective since the site knows who you are via your cookie. Fingerprint spoofing primarily protects cross-site tracking for non-logged-in browsing.

Yes. The blocklist syncs with the latest filter list versions automatically. You can also trigger a manual refresh from the extension popup.
